Batman and Robin return in Filmation's second series based on the Caped Crusader, The New Adventures of Batman. This time, Olan Soule and Casey Kasem were busy playing the Dynamic Duo for Hanna-Barbera's Challenge of the Super Friends, but Filmation was able to get Adam West and Burt Ward to reprise the roles that made them famous! The series debuted on CBS on February 10, 1977.
This series marked the first time two different studios simultaneously produced a series featuring the same characters. However, the Scarecrow and Riddler were reserved for Super Friends which meant they were off limits for Filmation.
The character designs used in this series are the same as Filmation's 1967 series, except for Commissioner Gordon who got a major redesign, and Robin's "R" insignia which appears in reverse colours.
