Marvel just released the first trailer for the upcoming Hulk Vs animated feature. The movie, which is split into two parts features epic battles between Wolverine and Thor. Take a look at this trailer then we'll talk some more:

Wow! This is gonna be one epic movie! This trailer, which only focuses on the Hulk vs Wolverine story, looks like it is based on the first appearance of Wolverine in The Incredible Hulk #181. Even Wolverine's costume is based off the one from that issue (see image below).
It's also nice to see that this is probably a PG-13 movie. You see blood, Wolvie says 'hell' and skewers Hulk in the back. Marvel used to bill their animated feature line as PG-13 movies but Next Avengers got a PG rating. It's nice to see that Hulk Vs. has amped up the action. It wouldn't be Hulk or Wolverine otherwise.
Here is Marvel's synopsis:
ALBERTA, Canada. Over the past week, The INCREDIBLE HULK has been tearing a line across the Canadian wilderness, leaving a swathe of destruction in his wake. He has to be stopped, and there's only one man up to the job.
He's the best at what he does, but what he does isn't very nice.
He's WOLVERINE, an elite agent of Canada's top secret Department H, and he's been put on Hulk's trail with a single objective: stop the Green Goliath… at all costs.
Hulk and Wolverine are about to enter the fiercest battle of their lives. And they have no idea that there are a few unpleasant surprises waiting for them on the other side.
But that isn't all! Apparently there will be a premiere screening of Hulk vs. Wolverine at the San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday July 24th at 4:15pm in Hall H! That's six months before its debut on DVD! Crazy!
Incredible Hulk #181 & Incredible Hulk #340
Marvel also has a few things to say about the second segment of the film, Hulk vs. Thor:
It's gods versus monsters in this epic 45 minute movie! Never have we explored the explosive power of the Hulk like we have in this new film, every major character from the Marvel Thor universe is thrust into battle with this Green Goliath as he brings a new Ragnarok down upon the realm of gods.
Splitting the film into two parts is a good idea. Marvel is really billing this film as two big slugfests which means that the story is probably minimal. And would you like to see a seventy minute movie about a Hulk fight with no substance? Probably not (the recent live-action movie had the story to back it up). I would find that pretty boring. Would you sit through a thirty-five minute Hulk battle with minimal story? I think I could do that. Especially based on this trailer.
Plus, animated fight scenes are often better than live action super hero fight scenes anyway. This movie is gonna be huge.
