Review (Warning! Spoilers!): After four heavy episodes, it is nice to see the writers showing off their stuff and giving us something a little lighter. Not only is this a fun episode but it also introduces some great characters and advances the plot a bit too!

In this version of X-Men, Gambit has not yet met Wolverine or the rest of the team. He is a hired thief as part of the Thieves Guild. I'd have to say that his character is spot on in this series. His charming, witty personality comes across perfectly as does his ability to use his powers and fighting skills. It is great to see Gambit in a way that is very true to his comic book root, unlike the liberties that X-Men: Evolution took with his character.

The voice of Gambit in this episode is Phil LaMarr, a superhero regular, whom people probably know best as Green Lantern from Justice League. LaMarr is an excellent voice actor and he pulls double-duty in this episode as Bolivar Trask.

And speaking of Trask, although he is not named in this episode, the man to whom Miss Zane releases the collar is Bolivar Trask, the man behind the Sentinel program. He will, without a doubt, be a major player in episodes to come, especially since we see a computer flash "MASTERMOLD" for a second. We fans know what that means!

Some of you may be asking, who is the mysterious Miss Zane? I believe her to actually be Dr. Kavita Rao who, in the comic books and X3, is the creator of the mutant cure. Although she is a bit more spunky here than in the comics.

This is a great episode and I hope to see more Gambit in the future. Maybe he will even join the X-Men in a later season.

    Comments:
What I'm loving about this show, is that they definitely made an effort to get the voices of the characters along the lines of the original 90s series for characters like Gambit.

I am enjoying the series so far, but personally...I hated Gambit's voice. It sounded nothing like in the original series and when he did speak french it sounded strained and fake.

The character was portrayed well though.
