Review (Warning! Spoilers!): A Visit to Venus is a dull episode. There is not much here for the viewer to grab hold of. Pytho-Rex, the aging Venus alien villain, is not evil, cunning or clever, but is whiny, old and boring.

The episode begins well by having Pytho-Rex hypnotize the astronauts into doing his evil bidding, but nothing really comes of that. Hawkman has no struggle defeating the aliens and stealing the jewel that gives them their powers.

I know that this show isn't the pinnacle of storytelling, but this episode seems to be worse than usual.

One little nice tidbit made it into the episode: The mention of Midway City, the home of Carter Hall, the Silver Age Hawkman. I know this seems like a small detail, but Hawkman is not getting any form of backstory and much of his character is changed for this series so it is nice to see a nod to the comics every once in a while.
