A Pictorial History of Doctor Doom

Doctor Doom hasn't really changed his appearance drastically over the last fifty years, but every artist has their own way to draw him and not all of them look good!

I find it interesting how many different shades of green have been used for Doom's cloak. I mean, green is green, right? I guess not.

Take a look at this pictorial history of Doctor Doom and let me know which one is your favourite!

Fantastic Four (1967)

New Fantastic Four (1978)

Spider-Man (1981)

Fantastic Four Season One (1994)

Fantastic Four Season Two (1995)

Incredible Hulk - Doomed (1996)

Spider-Man: the Animated Series - Secret Wars Part Three: Doom (1997)

Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes (2006)

Super Hero Squad Show (2009)

I would have to say the Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes, Dr. Doom is my favorite by far. Then again there is a pretty big gap between the Spider-Man Animated Series in 1997 episode with Dr. Doom and Fantastic Four in 2006.

They should have Mark Hamill as Dr. Doom, but they keep giving hime the the wrong voice actor.

Spider-Man 1981 has the most menacing look. That show also had his egomaniacal attitude, nobility, and intelligence down pat. The voice acting fit of Ralph James fit well on this show too.

He looked absolutely awful in Fantastic Four 1967, and his mask is pretty stupid looking in Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes.

All in all, I'd say that Spidey '81 had Doom down the best. I'd love to see a live-action version of Doom done right in the near future.
