Review (Warning! Spoilers!): In many of these old superheroes from the early days there always seems to be a major flaw (plot element) in their design that always comes up at the wrong moments. For Superman, it's kryptonite. In the Marvel Super Heroes, there is one in almost every one of these characters: For Iron Man, it's his bad heart; for Thor, it's the fact that he turns back into a mortal after 60 seconds of no hammer contact; for the Hulk, it's his unpredictable transformations; for Namor, it's when he get's further away from water the weaker he gets.
Modern day interpretations of these characters don't seem to wrestle with these problems every single issue, but they were an important part of storytelling back in the day. So yes, we will see Namor stumble around like a drunk every time he reaches the surface.
Namor isn't a very complex character on the surface (no pun intended), so even though this first episode is introducing him to us, I find that the character could be developed in the first 6-minute chapter. There doesn't seem to be much more to him. But then, in the third chapter, we get a little bit more development and the crew at Grantray-Lawrence Animation take the character in a different direction that we would expect.
