Shout! Factory to Release SHS DVDs

Shout! Factory and Marvel Animation have issued a press release about a new partnership to release DVDs of The Marvel Super Hero Squad Show over the next few years. From the press release:

"We are thrilled with this exciting opportunity to work closely with Marvel Animation, a globally recognized studio for its fantastic productions and pop culture content. This strategic partnership with Marvel continues to build on our continuing success in distributing some of the most premiere brands to the marketplace," stated Shout! Factory founding partners. "The Super Hero Squad Show has become one of the most popular animated series on television. There's a lot of interest from loyal fans, and we plan to do a great job with upcoming releases. We hope that this is just the start of a mutually beneficial relationship."

Factory who bring some of the most innovative DVD releases to market, and always with unique bonus features and packaging that deliver the best value to the fans," stated Eric Rollman, President of Marvel Animation. This news excites me to no end as Shout! Factory constantly puts out cartoons in quality DVD packages. Take a look at the current Transformers and G.I. Joe DVD box sets and you'll see what I mean.

I am looking forward to seeing how they will put together a complete season one box set, once the obligatory single disc releases are out, of course.

  Hulk and Wolverine on DVD Today!

The day has finally arrived that Planet Hulk fans have been waiting for as the animated feature based on the popular comic book has finally arrived on DVD and Blu-ray!

Not only will the Two Disc Special Edition DVD and Blu-ray include the feature film, but also a few making-of featurettes, a few motion comics, a few music videos, an episode of Wolverine and the X-Men, and the opening sequence for Marvel Animation's next DVD feature film: Thor: Tales of Asgard.

Also being released today is the fourth volume of Wolverine and the X-Men: Fate of the Future. This single disc will include five episodes: Stolen Lives, Code of Conduct, Badlands, Hunting Grounds and Backlash.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold also sees a DVD release today. Volume Three of the popular series will include the following episodes: Journey to the Center of the Bat, The Eyes of Despero, Return of the Fearsome Fangs, Deep Cover for Batman and Game Over for Owlman.



In other DVD news, Vevendi Entertainment has posted a pre-order on Amazon for Iron Man: Armored Adventures Complete Season One. $20 for 4 discs is a really good deal, so you may want to jump on this while it's still cheap!

  Wolverine Season Finale Tonight!

As if this Thanksgiving weekend wasn't awesome enough already with yesterday's Iron Man season finale, tonight at 9:00pm (ET/PT) on Nicktoons is the 90-minute season finale of Wolverine and the X-Men!

Get ready for off-the-wall action as the X-Men try to stop Magneto from destroying the world, the Hellfire Club from destroying the universe, and Mastermold from destroying the future! Wow! The X-Men sure have their work cut out for them!

  Wolverine statues

It may be a bit out my price range, but these new Wolverine and the X-Men resin statues might be too cool to pass up! Animated shows don't often get high quality collectors merch like this, so this is a real treat!

Logan, the first in the series, will be available for $125 by the end of October, with the other two coming later this year and in 2010. The statues are produced by One2One Collectibles, the same company that provided us with some way-cool Wolverine and the X-Men busts a few months ago.

  Super Friends Season One Finally on DVD!

Yesterday, Warner Home Video publicly announced that 2010 will be the year Super Friends fans will finally get the first season on DVD! With five other incarnations of the show already released, it's unclear why it took this long for the first season to come out, especially since it's been available as a digital download for a few years now.

But none of that matters anymore, because Super Friends, Season One - Volume One will be released on January 5! This two disc set, which features the two Junior Detectives, Wendy and Marvin, will include the first eight one-hour episodes in the season plus bonus features.

The eight episodes in the set are in production order, rather than air date order.

A hit's been placed on Tony Stark, and the Ghost has come to collect. Tony can't even see the invisible and untouchable Ghost coming… but he's got a guardian angel, whether he likes it or not: Madame Masque. And while Madame Masque battles the Ghost to protect Tony, Tony finds himself pushing away Rhodey and Pepper to protect them. But when Masque is captured by the Ghost, Tony has to turn to the very friends he pushed away for help.

  Time to Empty Your Pockets!

Man oh man, there are three big DVD releases to buy today! And over the next few months there will be plenty more to buy! I don't know that I can afford all of this!

Wolverine and the X-Men, The Complete First Season (Canada Only) - America hasn't even seen every episode of this amazing animated series, but Canada gets an exclusive 5-disc DVD set that includes all 26 episodes! And it is in a Steelbook case! Super fancy!

X-Men, Volume Three - The next 15 episodes, including the Dark Phoenix Saga, in the popular 90s X-Men animated series is collected in a 2-disc set!

X-Men, Volume Four - Another 14 episodes, including Beyond Good and Evil are including in this 2-disc set. There is only one more volume left to release with the remainder of the episodes! Hopefully we will get that announcement soon!

  Wolverine DVD Volume Three and Other Merch

The third installment of the Wolverine and the X-Men DVD line has been announced. November 3 will be the release date for Wolverine and the X-Men, Volume Three - Beginning of the End. This single disc volume will be similar to the previous release, with five widescreen episodes, an audio commentary by Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost, and an issue of The Astonishing X-Men Motion Comic.
