Iron Man Music Video by Rooney

Here's something cool! A music video for Iron Man: Armored Adventures by the Los Angeles based rock band Rooney. This will be theme song for the up and coming Nicktoons animated series.

I have to say that I wasn't impressed at the beginning but really liked the chorus. Catchy, energetic, and great harmonies! Plus we see Iron Man fighting a villain we haven't seen yet: Unicorn! What do you think?

      More Juicy Iron Man Info

You can tell that Iron Man: Armored Adventures is just around the corner because there has been plenty of news lately! In case you have been living on the moon, IM:AA debuts in Canada on Teletoon on April 12 and on Nicktoons in the US on April 24.

Today, Marvel Animation Age has posted episode descriptions of the first seven episodes as written by Teletoon. They have also provided the schedule for the first four episodes.

I personally think that episode descriptions should be a bit more vague then what Teletoon has written. I felt the same way about the Spectacular Spider-Man episode descriptions that Teletoon provided that site a few months back. So be warned! There are plenty of spoilers!

Spectacular Spider-Man Debuts on Disney XD

Don't forget that today is the debut of Spectacular Spider-Man on Disney XD! The series will kick off with a three episode marathon tonight at 7:30pm (ET). The same three episodes, Survival of the Fittest, Interactions, and Natural Selection, will be aired several times throughout the week. Click here for the complete schedule.

Disney XD will air the first season in its entirety before premiering the second season later in the year.

I have mentioned this before and I'll say it again. It is very important that these airings get good ratings. If fans of the show want to see it renewed for a third season, Disney needs to see that the show is popular on their network. So I know that you have all seen the first season, but please tune in anyway to help the show get the ratings it deserves!

      Jeph Loeb on Public Enemies

CBR has posted a short interview with Jeph Loeb, the writer behind the first story arc of the popular Superman/Batman comic book that is currently being adapted into an animated movie.

While the article doesn't give any specifics, it seems that Loeb and artist Ed McGuiness are both not really involved with the project due to busy schedules. That's a real shame, but at least Bruce Timm is producing and Lauren Montgomery is directing.

Spidey, Thor and Zeta on DVD

There are many superhero DVDs being released today that may spark your interest. Here is a rundown:

    The Spectacular Spider-Man, Volume Two

The second volume of the popular television series is a single disc DVD that contains three episodes from the first season, introducing us to such characters as Rhino, Shocker and Sandman!

    Episodes included:
  • Market Forces
  • Competition
  • The Invisible Hand

  • Unlike the first volume, these episodes will not be one seamless movie but rather presented as individual episodes. There are no bonus features. Fans may want to hold off until the inevitable season set that has been said to be in the works.

    The Spectacular Spider-Man, Volume Three

The third volume stars two of Spider-Man's greatest enemies all on one disc: Doctor Octopus and the Green Goblin! Plus, Peter gets ready for the fall formal and is introduced to the lovely Mary Jane Watson!

    Episodes included:
  • Catalyst
  • Reaction
  • The Uncertainty Principle

  • Unlike the first volume, these episodes will not be one seamless movie but rather presented as individual episodes. There are no bonus features. Fans may want to hold off until the inevitable season set that has been said to be in the works.

    The Zeta Project, Season One

The entire first season of the Batman Beyond spin-off has been collected for the first time on home video! Zeta, a robot that longs to be human, is on the run from government agents who want to use him as a weapon. He meets up with a young girl named Ro and together they race across the country, helping those in need.

The two-disc set will include all twelve episode from the show's first season as well as two bonus episodes of Batman Beyond that guest star Zeta. Another bonus feature inclued is a featurette about the origins of The Zeta Project.

I'm encouraging people to buy this set. It is not a well known show and if fans expect the second season to be released then the sales for this set need to be good!

The Mighty Thor - Enter Hercules

The next installment of the Morningstar Entertainment releases contains one episode of The Mighty Thor from the classic 60s series The Marvel Super Heroes. In Enter Hercules, Thor must face off against Hercules to win the hand of the woman he loves!

Included as a bonus feature is the '67 Spider-Man episode Neptune's Nose Cone.

This volume has already been released as part of the Heroes Gift Set.

The quality of this DVD is not good due to the fact that Morningstar only has the rights to re-release a VHS that has the same content. They were not allowed to change anything about the content of the release, and that included restoration. However, it may be a long time until The Mighty Thor makes its way to DVD in any sort of official release as Disney is the current rights holder and has no plans for the show.

      New X-Men DVD Cover Art!

Buena Vista Home Entertainment has released new cover art for their upcoming X-Men DVD sets that are scheduled to be released April 28. Take a look:

Now compare that to the ultra-crappy early cover art and be amazed at the improvement:

I am looking forward to these releases and am even more so now that the art looks nice. I just hope that Disney will continue to release volumes until all the episodes are released, unlike the treatment they gave their Disney Afternoon DVD sets.

      Comic Moments Come to Life!

I love it when cartoons take iconic images straight from the comics and translate them to animation. Here is one from last week's episode of Batman: Brave and the Bold. It shows Owlman, disguised as Batman in Batman's original costume, striking a pose taken from Batman #1, 1940, by Bob Kane.

What are some of your favourite comic images that have been brought to life in animation?

      Spectacular Spider-News

ITEM! Disney XD has officially announced the premiere date for Spectacular Spider-Man: March 23rd!

The series kicks off with a 90-minute premiere, featuring the first three episodes of season one, Survival of the Fittest, Interactions, and Natural Selection. It will continue to run every Monday night at 7:30, however, US fans will have to wait for season two until the summer as Disney XD plans to air the entire season one first.

To my American friends, I cannot watch the show on Disney XD as I am in Canada. Please do your part and tune in so that Disney will pick up the series for a third season! As you may know, there are currently no plans for a third season and it all depends on the rating that this show will get on Disney XD whether or not Disney will renew the show for another season.

ITEM! Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will be releasing Spectacular Spider-Man: Volume Four on DVD April 28. The single disc will feature the final storyarc from season one. Episodes include Persona, Group Therapy, Intervention, and Nature vs. Nurture. The four episodes will be strung together with all-new footage to create a seamless 92 minute movie.

ITEM! Teletoon is airing new episodes of Spectacular Spider-Man all throughout March! Keep checking back here for the latest reviews!
